Accessible by Design.

Effective date: 22/12/2025

At Icons Agency, we believe great work is work that everyone can use. We’re committed to building and maintaining an accessible website and digital assets, guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA (and monitoring developments in WCAG 2.2).

1) What We’re Aiming For

  • Perceivable: Clear hierarchy, meaningful alt text, transcripts/captions for time‑based media.

  • Operable: Full keyboard access, visible focus states, enough time to read and use content.

  • Understandable: Predictable navigation, consistent components, plain language.

  • Robust: Semantic HTML with ARIA where appropriate, tested with assistive technologies.

2) Measures We Take

  • Design system: Colour contrast checks, scalable typography, responsive layouts.

  • Content: Descriptive link text, headings in logical order, non‑text alternatives for imagery.

  • Code: Semantic landmarks (header, main, nav, footer), labelled form fields, error messaging tied to inputs.

  • Media: Captions for videos we produce; transcripts for key motion assets; reduced‑motion alternatives where feasible.

  • Documents: We aim to publish accessible PDFs (e.g., the Rate Card) with proper tagging and reading order.

  • Testing: Keyboard‑only navigation, automated audits (e.g., axe, Lighthouse), and manual checks with screen readers where possible.

3) Current Conformance Status

We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Some content may not yet fully conform, particularly third‑party embeds (e.g., scheduling widgets, map or video players) that we cannot control. When we find issues, we prioritise fixes based on impact and effort.

4) Known Limitations & Workarounds

  • Third‑party embeds: If an embed is not fully accessible, we’ll provide an alternative (e.g., a plain‑link booking option or map address text).

  • Legacy or archived content: Some older assets may not meet current standards; we’ll update them on request or as part of scheduled maintenance.

5) Feedback & Contact

If you encounter a barrier, tell us: accessibility@[icons.agency]
Please include the page URL, the issue you experienced, and the assistive tech/browser you used. We aim to respond within 5 business days.

6) Compatibility

Our site is designed for modern browsers (last two major versions) and tested on common desktop and mobile combinations. Some features may degrade gracefully on older browsers.

7) Formal Complaints & Escalation

If you’re unsatisfied with our initial response, reply to the same email thread and mark it Accessibility Escalation. We’ll escalate internally and outline next steps and timelines.

8) Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is a continuous process. We schedule periodic reviews, especially after major releases or when we add new features.
